In the intake sequence, all but the Intake screen record offender demographics and identifying characteristics. These screens are usually linked in a formpath that originates with the Intake screen. At most community TAG implementations, this data can be copied over from an earlier contact or institutional booking - (the institutional application of TAG uses the same screens) - so that it does not have to be re-entered, only verified. While demographics are considered part of the intake sequence, they can be completed at any time after the Intake screen is filled in for an offender.
All of the demographic screens use the TAG "standard header block", which retrieves only offender records in the current caseload. You cannot make changes to inactive offender records. Most of these screens have a "last edit" indicator, which is an unnamed column or field wide enough for one letter. After a save, this column shows the letter C to show the record was updated in a community caseload. (On institutional TAG, the save places the letter I for institutional in the same column). When you run the mouse over this column, a "bubble-help" display appears: a yellow strip showing the date, time and user ID of the last update to the line item currently selected.
