All screens that display or update only one offender record at a time contain a Header block at the top to locate individual offender records. Screens with a Header block are known as offender-specific screens.
The standard Header block identifies which offender you are working with (Unique identifier, name and birthdate), any medical or security alerts, their booking or contact number, their location, their status, and an image of the offender.
The field name given to the unique identifier is determined by your facility. At prisons, a term often used is DOC# (Department of Corrections number-see the example below). At jails, a term such as MID# (Master ID number) is often used. Your TAG installation displays whatever name is designated for your facility. This manual will use the term unique identifier or unique ID#.
The Header block is the only block that doesn't title every field displayed. If you can't remember which field is which, you can move the cursor to it-the hint text in the Status bar will tell you the name of the field.
Sometimes the Header block will be a little different, to allow for special needs of a particular screen, but the Header block will ALWAYS be the first block on the screen, and will ALWAYS show you the unique ID# and name of the offender. The Header block always displays the name in the following format:
You can use the Header block to access other offender information.
